The Women's Ministries at Hickory Valley has three very active components. The Women's
Actively Serving (W.A.S.) ministries provides a devotional brunch for our women on a regular
basis. However, the main concentration of the W.A.S. ministry is to provide ministry opportunities
for women in a variety of ways.
The Sweet Blessings Ministries is a group of ladies who meet on every 2nd Sunday evening of
the month to pray over and discuss specific community needs and to actively do something about
those needs in practical ways.
Sandy's Pink Pockets is a ministry in memory of Sandra Autry, who was afflicted with a brain tumor. Sandy often wished for a pocket to hold those items she just couldn't get for herself during her chemo treatments. Water, pen, paper, hand sanitizer, a mint, lotion, etc. She would have enjoyed the independence to get them for herself. However, she lost her battle with cancer and dreamed that these "Pink Pockets" could be designed and shared with others going through this battle. In collaboration with her family, a host of her church lady friends designed the "Pink Pockets" in her honor. Her dream and legacy lives on!
